About this product Product Information "Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance: The Janda Approach" blends postural techniques, neurology, and functional capabilities in order to alleviate chronic musculoskeletal pain and promote greater functionality. Developed by Vladimir Janda, respected neurologist and physiotherapist, the Janda approach presents a unique perspective to rehabilitation.
In contrast to a more traditional structural view, the Janda approach is functional--emphasizing the importance of the sensorimotor system in controlling movement and chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes from sports and general activities. Filled with illustrations, photos, and step-by-step instructions, "Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance" uses a systematic approach in presenting information that can be used in tandem with other clinical techniques.
Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance
This resource for practitioners features the following tools: --A rationale for rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal sytem based on the relationship between the central nervous system and the motor system --A systematic method for the functional examination of the muscular system --Treatment processes focusing on the triad of normalization of peripheral structures, restoration of muscle balance, and facilitation of afferent systems and sensorimotor training --The role of muscle imbalance and functional pathology of sensorimotor systems for specific pain complaints, including cervical pain syndrome, upper- and lower-extremity pain syndromes, and low back pain syndromes "Assessment and Treatment of Muscle Imbalance" provides an evidence-based explanation of muscle imbalance.
The step-by-step Janda system of evaluation is explained--including analysis of posture, balance, and gait; evaluation of movement patterns; testing of muscle length; and assessment of the soft tissue. The text explores treatment options for muscle imbalance through facilitation and inhibition techniques and sensorimotor training to restore neuromsucular function. It also includes four case studies examining musculoskeletal conditions and showing how the Janda approach compares with other treatments.

The program met my expectations. The quality of materials and program design met my expectations. The information received was useful and beneficial. What did you like the most about this program? General Comments:. Choose an option Full Payment Clear. I will use a lot of these tools to help evalute potential clients as well as my current clientel base.
This was a comprehensive and well laid-out course. It was very succinct, easy to study for and very useful in day-to-day client programming. The instructions i received stated a 1 hour 60 question exam which was not accurate.
This system can be used to broaden my assessment and treatment techniques as a Physical Therapist. I am a physical therapist so understanding movement dysfunction is vital to my profession.
tacpalortorin.tk It would be easier to read the book on adobe reader instead of digital editions. I would like to be able to save the PDF and with digital editions, i am unable to. This was a great course. This was an amazing course! It was challenging but I was able to understanding the material.
I am looking forward to providing my clients with a higher quality of service and helping those with muscle imbalances live a pain free life! It will help me in my evaluation of the student-athletes I work with. It also helps validate what I do with using the Functional Movement Systems material. It was a great course and very helpful in validating the way I go about my evals on student-athletes.
Most of my personal training clients have challenges and I hope to use this information to improve their lives. I would like at the end for them to have 'tied' the whole process up together 3 different case studies and the full eval with each component different exercise examples and recommendations to improve and treat. I will use it to identify some muscle imbalance issues that I feel some of my training clients have. I ended up purchasing the hard copy text as I found it easier and more convenient than using the downloaded text.
I will use the additional knowledge to enhance exercise programs, particularly during assessment, and also for corrective exercise. I find it much easier to study using a real book, rather than an electronic version. It also makes for a more convenient reference.
This is why I purchased the book, although it was an additional cost.
